Computers, Internet, and Wireless Access


Wireless Access Inside and Outside the Library

Wi-Fi (wireless) Internet access is available at all library branch locations. The service is available 24 hours a day for the community and public. Please use the LTI-PUBLIC (Lansdowne) or LIBRARY-PUBLIC (Lyndhurst and Seeley’s Bay) network to connect, no library card required!

All users must agree to the Library’s Internet Use Policy upon connecting to the network. The library is not responsible for any damages that may occur while using our internet services. Please be aware, the network is open to all members of the public.

 

Public Access Computers

Public computers are available at all library branch locations and there is no charge for using the library public computers.

For your convenience, all public computers offer the following capabilities:

  • Internet access

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)

  • PDF reading

  • Printing

    • At a rate of 15¢ per black and white page

    • $1 per colour page

  • Downloading or uploading onto flash drive (Patron must have their own)

A valid library card is required to access all public computers.

 

Other Important Info About Computer Usage

Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons can reserve a computer in advance for a specific date and time by calling ahead.

  • We ask that you bring your library card.

  • Guest login are available for visitors.

  • You may call ahead and reserve computer time.

We will gladly help you if you need assistance and as staff time permits. We often have staff available to give one-on-one free computer/internet lessons. Please contact any branch to schedule a session.

Rules & Policies for Computer Usage

The following computer usage rules apply:

  • Users are limited to 45 minutes per session, up to twice per day

    1. One person per computer (aide workers and technology help excluded)

    2. Headphones must be used if listening to any audio

    3. Users playing games will be asked to leave if the station is required for research or work purposes
